When in real estate, one can wonder at times what loyalty looks like today. Do the businesses and people you give to and support, promote you in return? Do you find that you live a life of loyalty?
For me, Wayne and Janet Bates mean loyalty in 2023! Our connection began in 2017 at the first Open House I ever held. As a new agent, with a burning desire to care and protect my clients, yet full of imposter syndrome, I worried a lot. Yet my newness didn’t deter the Bates, wanting to move from Wyoming to Spearfish, they decided to house hunt with me!
When we found the right home, their Purchase Agreement was the first I completed since gaining licensure. Merideth, another agent, worked with me on the contract. She and I sat at the conference table filling it out, while I cried, worrying that I would miss something or highlight my inexperience once in front of the Bates to review the Agreement. (Note: if you think agents learn all they need to know about Purchase Agreements in Real Estate School, you are mistaken. It takes time, practice, experience, and many transactions to get comfortable with them.)
By the time closing came around, another client’s (my second client in my career) closing came first. I remember Janet saying to me that she and Wayne were disappointed as they had hoped to be my first closing. That one sentence, that one assurance from them projected me on a path of believing in myself and my work and I am forever grateful! It's interesting, because in life you don't realize how one action or statement can have such an impact on the recipient.
Thank you, Janet and Wayne, who have since bought and sold with me four times, for your loyalty, love and friendship! Ironically, we met on Arrowhead Circle and now say goodbye on Arrowhead Circle! As your hearts leave our community, bringing your gift of volunteering and generosity to a new state, I wish you safe travels, fun connections, and the perfect amount of family time!!
